Tense

«Tense» is a research collection of five furnitures – a lounge chair, a room divider, a ceiling lamp, an ambient lamp, and a low table – inspired by rising multi-local and nomadic tendencies of both work and play and shaped after the need of our generation to relocate frequently – allowing one to recreate and rebuild a home anywhere in a few simple steps. Thanks to the use of tension as a connecting system throughout the whole collection, each piece doesn’t require any tools or screws to be assembled, making them fast to built and disassemble.

Each object is designed to be both ultralight and flat-pack, taking advantage of the tensile construction and reducing the number of materials and components used for production, making the project more efficient and sustainable.

The collection explores innovative materials and digital production techniques – spacer fabrics from the sport and automotive field replace at once foam and covering, often not detachable and unwashable, 3d knitting techniques offers a customizable and scalable experience to the project and a sustainable approach that prefers flexible fabrication techniques, which can be sourced locally and scaled globally, avoids heavy machining or molding connecting digital artisans and small scale manufacturers to the industry system.
