Manila stories_chasing ghosts on social media
The images shared in «Manila stories_chasing ghosts on social media» consist mainly of collages made from Lauren Huret’s photographic archives, enhanced with texts, gifs and effects from different applications. Most importantly, the videos take a closer look at how social media companies manage issues of censorship, problematic content and underpaid outsourced work, called «Potemkin AI» or «heteromation» – work that is supposed to be done by sophisticated software when in reality these tasks are done by humans.
