IA Spotlight I

The Immersive Arts Space (IAS) is a university wide research cluster, as well as production and education platform. The team of the Immersive Arts Space is constantly developing technologically-supported artistic examinations within mixed realities and the convergence of media-based and performative practices. For this year`s REFRESH #5 three ongoing projects, currently being developed in the IAS, will be shown as part of the «IA Spotlight I».

«Possible Worlds…» is a AR project that explores the 16th century philosopher Giordano Bruno’s vision of the universe. The VR experience taps into the human fascination with creating meaning from patterns such as constellations of stars and planets. «Changing Matters» aims at a playful and abstract virtual representation of oneself. This is achieved through the use of a camera that tracks the movements of the user and translates them onto an avatar and is enhanced with it`s soundscape. «Friendly Fire» is an interactive installation inspired by Joseph Weizenbaum’s «Eliza» (1966). A large language model pretends to be your therapist. But what does it really know about you?
